LA Curriculum 202-24

Language Arts Year at a Glance:

Learn the correct format for a Friendly Letter and  Appropriate Email Ettiquette.

Writing a good sentence and recognizing when a sentence needs fixing and providing solutions.

From there we move to writing a paragraph with a topic and concluding sentence.

Nouns, Pronouns, and Adjectives are next

followed by writing a 5 paragraph essay in the form of a personal narrative.

Verbs, Adverbs, Prepositions, Conjunctions, Interjections follow that.

If there is time, we do an essay on Highlights and Lowlights of 6th grade.

Vocabulary Units will be incorporated throughout the year as we work to increase and learn more by expanding our vocabulary.  This helps us better understand our world and the content we are learning.

Daily journal writing helps us exercise our writing legs as we build writing perseverance and practice getting our thoughts from our head down to our paper.
