📚 Accelerated Reader “Above and Beyond” Policy

Baseline Requirement: Every student must earn 10 AR points for the first quarter, 11 points for the 2nd quarter, 12 points for the third quarter, and 13 points for the fourth quarter from independent reading.

Above and Beyond: Students who double their AR points (20+ points in the quarter) will earn an extra reward: At the end of the quarter, one literature assessment grade may be replaced with an A+. If all assessment grades are already A’s, the student will receive bonus points added to the quarter grade.
💡 Notes: This policy is optional -- students who meet the 10-point goal are on track and doing exactly what is expected. Additionally, books read in the classroom do not count toward the 10 point grade goal; however, they can count towards the Above & Beyond Goal.
