Nicholas Goodden is a self-taught street, event and nature photographer based mostly in London and Dorset. He was raised in France but has been living and working in London since 1999. He often works with top brands on creating social media content and has been included in several publications such as the Huffington Post and World Photo org. He is the founder editor of the Street Photography London collective and blog www.streetphotographylondon.co.uk. His style is difficult to pinpoint exactly, in making a career out of photography Goodden has developed several separate styles and techniques that he uses. One I especially appreciate is his Cinemagraphs- photos that move in a loop, they’re something I don’t think I have ever seen a traditional photographer delve into.
Selective colour photography has been done by many photographers for years, but with this photo Nicholas Goodden has a new inventive take on it. The colour chosen to select is that of the 'SHELL' logo, however the S of the word is covered by a wall turning it into the word 'hell'. This piece has also added to using a grainy, vintage style filter, and vignette on the corners.
What I love about the concept of Selective colour photography is that it highlights the colour of a vast, grey urban environment. I intend to focus on that when I do.
