Elizaveta Porodina, who was born in Moscow in 1987, relocated alongside her family to Munich in 2000 and began to pursue a career in clinical psychology. Prior to switching to photography at age 22, she worked in a variety of visual media sectors simultaneously, including illustration, drawing, and digital painting. Porodina's work can be described as highly editorial, cinematically combininig fashion with fine art. The use of colour in her work evokes such visceral emotion, that I just had to include her in this project. Her impressive portfolio includes work done with a variety of celebrities and magazines such as Cate Blanchett for Vanity Fair and Zendaya for Vogue Italia. I regard her as one of the best photographers of our time.

Elizaveta Porodina
Porodina states the inspiration behind this piece is emotion and psychology, this makes sense due to her background in clinical psychology. The double exposure aspect makes the model appear to be looking in on herself, perhaps reflecting on the state of her mind.
Saturated colour and bold detail makes this portrait something very special. The almost neon shade of yellow of the subjects hair and the background is very reminiscent of the pop art movement and specifcally Andy Wharhol's famous portrait of Marilyn Monroe. Porodina's style is definitely very editorial and stylised, and this piece is no different. This is what I intend to recreate going into my own photoshoot.
Techniques that could be used:
filters over camera lens
Projecting coloured light using projectors
sunset lamp
I used my sunset lamp to create these shots, the lamp emits a circle of coloured light that is supposed to mimic the gradient of a sunset. For my hair and makeup I wanted to create an editorial look, I did a fun graphic liner and glittery eye and slicked my hair back with some curled pieces on my face. I set my camera to self timer, taking 5 shots each time and got to posing.
F/4.0 ISO:200 0.6
Interestingly, this shot has not been photoshopped, using a very low shutter speed I created this double exposure.
