Specialist colleges
Locally we have several specialist colleges/training providers providing training in a variety of disciplines.
The Houghall campus of East Durham College is based on the outskirts of Durham. They offer land based courses including animal care.
North East Futures is a UTC in the centre of Newcastle. They have strong links to the biomedical industries including digital media and imagery.
The Northern School of Art is moving to a purpose build in the centre of Middlesbrough in September 2021. They offer post 16 courses and degrees in a variety of art based subjects.
South Durham UTC is based in Aycliffe. Students have the opportunity to blend real life work with their industry partners as part of their engineering and science courses.
Graded outstanding by OFSTED, South West Durham Training provides vocational training in plumbing, engineering, electrical, fabrication and welding.
