Information for post-16 providers

2021-22

Last updated: 6th June 2022

We are keen to develop links with local post-16 providers

to give our students a wide variety of careers experiences throughout their five years at Wyvern. We also welcome visits from University staff to support us in our work to raise the aspirations of all our students.

Our Careers Evening, held annually in the autumn term, is an opportunity for universities, colleges and other post-16 providers to meet students and discuss any suitable opportunities individually.

If you or your colleagues would like to support us with this important work or attend our Careers Evening, please complete our short contact form by clicking here or contact our Careers Lead, Cath Gibbins cathryn.gibbins@consilium-at.com

Technical and Further Education Act 2017

Under this act we are required to ensure there is an opportunity for a range of education and training providers to access students during the relevant phase of their education for the purpose of informing them about approved technical education qualifications or apprenticeships.

Please see our Provider Access policy which sets out the academy's arrangements for managing the access of providers to pupils at the academy for the purposes of giving them information about the provider’s education or training offer. This complies with the school’s legal obligations under Section 42B of the Education Act 1997.

Our Safeguarding policy recognises that all adults, including temporary staff, volunteers and governors, have a full and active part to play in protecting our pupils from harm, and that the child’s welfare is our paramount concern. All visitors taking part in careers related activities must produce a copy of their enhanced DBS and photo id on arrival in school. If they are unable to do this their activity may be cancelled if we are not able to provide them with a member of Wyvern staff who will accompany them at all times.
