How Do I Practice Mindfulness?
Slow Down
When doing something you enjoy, take your time! Notice and appreciate what you are experiencing with your 5 senses. Take mental notes of why you are happy at that moment.
Deep Breathing
Take slow, deliberate deep breaths to calm your body and mind. Focus your attention on the air entering and leaving your lungs and the rising/falling of your chest.
Relax your Body
Pay attention to messages from your body to notice any stiffness, tension, or discomfort. Make an effort to relax tense muscles and stretch.
Redirecting Focus
Practice focusing on what you are experiencing in the present moment. Pay attention to what you are experiencing with all 5 senses.
