Mrs. E. Gutierrez 7th and 8th Grade History

Hello my name is Elsa Gutierrez I was born and raised in Wasco. I attended all Wasco schools and graduated from Wasco High in 2002. I obtained my Associate in Science and Family Relations Degree from Bakersfield College in 2007 and my Bachelors in Sociology from Grand Canyon University in 2020. I am currently attending Point Loma where I will soon have my Credentials in Single Subject Social Science and Masters in Education.

This will be my FIRST year teaching at Wasco Elementary School District. I served as a School Clerk at Thomas Jefferson Middle School for three years and then moved on as a District Secretary for our Educational Resource Center for 6 months, I then took the opportunity to become a School Secretary for our 2nd Middle School at Palm Avenue. I served as their Secretary for 2 school years. I was attending college and finally decided to pursue a career in teaching.

I am beyond grateful for all the opportunities that our District has given me. As a teacher I plan to be efficient and unique. I want my students to feel safe and cared about when they are in my classroom. This world is full of diversity and we have all experienced drastic change in our lives since the pandemic that have affected each of us differently. Learning should be interesting and fun and I want to help students learn and form a positive outlook on life.

I am a lover of life and all things nature. The beach is my home away from home and music is my therapy. I love to sing, spend time with my family, and hope to travel the world!

I am ecstatic to embark on this new journey as a teacher for Wasco Elementary School District and to serve the community of Wasco.

I can be reached via email at: elgutierrez@wuesd.org. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. Looking forward to serving you all.
