Assignments should be completed on the due date as shown in Google Classroom. Submission of work must follow the correct procedure or work may not be graded. Late work will be marked down. Class critiques will include examination and analysis of student work. You will also be asked to provide at least one written self-evaluation. All on-time work that has been completed with a visible investment of time and energy can be reworked or redone for an improved grade with permission from the instructor. All major assessments are grade via rubric (made available to students at the outset of each project.)
Major Assessments (Summative Assessments) – 50%:
Studio Projects:
● Punctual submission of work (through Google Classroom)
● Incorporation of all given specifications or parameters
● Originality of the creative process
● Craftsmanship in execution using digital media and tools
● Use of principles of graphic design in execution
● High Standard of Visual Accomplishment - well-crafted design, clear communication
● Critiques (written or verbal) and self-assessments
Minor Assessments – 50%:
● Classwork (image retrieval, sketches, brainstorming, Do Nows, etc.)
● Visible progress benchmarks (formative assessment)
Sketchbook, pencils, thin-tipped Sharpie--will be used daily.
CHS Google account (an absolute must, so remember your username & password!
Chromebooks: we will be using the Chromebooks for almost daily. Devices must be fully charged.
We will be using other art tools such as watercolor, markers, fine tip pens, color pencils (to be supplied during class)
