A: The first few weeks are an adjustment period to get used to the freedoms that you have here. Some suggestions that we have gotten from previous students are:
Don’t get behind in your class, it’s hard to get caught back up
Work with your I-Time teacher
Work with the Student Advocates
Make a schedule for yourself
Take advantage of your resources early, especially student advocates, and meet with your teachers
A: Best thing to do is simply go up to your teacher and talk to them when you have questions
Make goals with I-Time teacher and FOLLOW THROUGH
Talk with your teacher. If you can’t do an assignment because you haven’t talked with the teacher, then you need to be responsible and talk with the teacher.
Try to minimize distractions as fast and as often as you can. If your friends are a distraction, work away from them.
A: You will need to be in the school building just like any other school. You will have access to your classes at home and can continue working on them there after the school day has ended. During school hours you should be working on your assignments in the building.
If you are absent, then your parent(s) will need to excuse you from school. To excuse a student from school, please contact the attendance secretary at (801) 476-6542.
A: When you get to Innovation High at the beginning of the school day, you will go to morning Raven Time and take attendance. After lunch, you will go to afternoon Raven Time and take attendance a second time. We also look at your canvas logins to make sure you are working on classes while in the building.
