WSU CJ 1010 - Criminal Justice

In Person - For those interested in Law Enforcement careers or students desiring General Education credit at Weber State. (Face to face with WSD teacher who is also an adjunct professor for Weber State) An introduction to the history, processes and functions of the American criminal justice system and its primary components, law enforcement, courts, and corrections.

SC HFST 1750 - Intro to Interior Design

IVC - This general education course acquaints students with the visual and technical language of Interior Design. Through education of the principles of design, this course will foster design sensibility as it is applied to residential space and structure. Emphasis will be placed on using space effectively, the selection and arrangement of furnishings and residential materials, and the application of relevant theory related to everyday living experiences. Students will create a comprehensive design portfolio and complete a client-based design project in order to demonstrate their competency in design and composition analysis, presentation/communication of design solutions, understanding of historical influences, creative thinking, and identification of effective design solutions. This course also introduces students to the professional aspects of a career in Interior Design.

SUU HUM 1010 - Intro to Humanities

Online - A survey of some of the most important literary, philosophical, artistic, and musical monuments of Western culture from the Greeks to the present.

OTECH CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant

Facetime - Students will work with an OTech instructor to learn skills related to becoming a CNA. At the end of the course, students will be prepared to take the certification exam and become a fully certified CNA.

Dog Training

Facetime - course looks at the relationship between humans and their companion animals. Species covered include dog, horse, cat, with an emphasis on dogs. The curriculum will cover a broad variety of areas including zoology, animal behavior, training, genetics & health care, animal husbandry, animal rescue, competition events and career exploration.

Bicycle Repair Training

Facetime - course prepares students to understand and demonstrate proper bicycle repairs, including steering systems, braking systems, drive/shifting systems and suspension systems.  Students will understand and demonstrate proper safety procedures and gain understanding of bicycle anatomy and tools necessary to maintain them.

Facetime - This is a  program with a sequence of courses that prepare individuals to perform the duties of a firefighter. Instruction includes training in safety, firefighting, equipment operation, maintenance and the principles of Fire Science.

Intro to Landscape Architecture

Facetime -  Course explores basic concepts and  applications of design and planning used to shape landscapes. Students will participate in discussions, research, case studies, design charrettes, installation and maintenance of projects and field trips.  This course will work closely with Landscape Architecture and Environmental Planning Dept fro. USU.

Food and Science

Facetime - course teaches scientific principles and how those principles can be applied to improve the health of individuals and families. Instruction is given concerning the physical, microbiological and chemical principles that effect the food we eat.  This course will  strengthen comprehension of concepts and standards outlined in STEM education.

Digital Graphic Design

Facetime - This course is designed to provide students with the basic knowledge and skills related to the graphic design industry. It is intended to serve as a starting point for several pathways including Digital Media, Graphics and Printing, 3D Animation and Game Development. This includes instruction and hands-on assignments in the following areas: creative design & layout, typography, color, related software, and computer and professional skills.

Drone Technology

Facetime - Designed for all students interested in aviation careers. Includes a general knowledge of aviation, historical events, and aerospace studies/development opportunities.  Study aviation and aerospace terminology, how aircraft and spacecraft fly, research and development of future systems, government and industry roles in the growth of aviation, and potential careers in aviation.
