8.5 Elective Credits Needed for Graduation
Freeflow - The more exposure to ACT questions the better students do on the ACT. Students in the ACT class use ACT diagnostic exams to assess their strengths and areas that need review. Based on the student’s diagnostic exam, students are assigned drills to strengthen areas that need review. The course also contains five full length practice ACT exams.

In Person - The Innovation and Design course challenges students to think critically and creatively as they tackle real-world problems through innovative solutions. In this hands-on class, students will explore the design process, from identifying needs to brainstorming, prototyping, and testing ideas. They will develop practical skills in problem-solving, teamwork, and communication while learning to apply technology and design principles to address a variety of challenges. Whether it’s creating new products, improving existing systems, or developing solutions for social issues, students will be empowered to turn their ideas into impactful realities.

In Person - Go out into the work field and work you can get elective credit and gain experience in whatever it is you want to go into. This is a great way to make sure you are going to like what you want to go into or to just get your foot in the door with an employer. Must be on pace to graduate to be enrolled.
Meet with your counselor to see which semester your internship can be placed in. Then meet with Mr. Grilz (CTE Department) to register for your internship site and set your dates and times.

Online - Science and Application of Human Nutrition: Human nutrition is the platform to study the nature and integration of science across disciplines and in society through applied problem-solving and data analysis. Nutritional balance and good health are explored in context of the levels of organization, metabolism and homeostasis, genetics and evolution, and ecological interactions.

Credit: 1.0 CTE or Elective and 3 Concurrent Enrollment credits
*This is a pure class. Students are required to register for Concurrent Enrollment credit through Weber State University. If students fail to register for CE credit by the deadline, the class will be removed from their schedule and students will need to choose a different class.

In Person - See the OTech website for a list of current programs. Must be on pace to graduate to be enrolled. Must meet with your counselor to fill out an approval form and then meet with the OTech coordinator, Mrs. Hyde, to register for the program.

In Person - The Student Support Center is designed to provide dedicated academic assistance for students who may be struggling to keep up with their coursework. In this study hall-style class, students will work closely with a student advocate to set personalized academic goals, develop effective study strategies, and catch up on assignments. The class focuses on fostering a supportive and structured environment, helping students regain their confidence and improve their performance in other courses. By utilizing time effectively and receiving individualized attention, students will have the opportunity to strengthen their academic skills, stay on track for graduation, and overcome challenges they may face in their learning journey.

In Person - Students who have been hired on at a job outside of school hours may turn in their pay stubs to be awarded high shcool elective credit. Students must find a job on their own. The school district is not repsonsible for providing connections for a job. Pay stubs must include the student's name, a date range, the hours of work for that date range and the company's name/logo/official letterhead/etc. Pay stubs should be turned into either the counselor or the regisrar.

Freeflow - Yearbook class is intended to create the school yearbook. Students in this class will be involved in desktop publishing, taking photographs, writing text, doing page layouts, editing, and submitting information to the yearbook company. To meet the deadlines will require diligent and persistent work by the yearbook staff. Yearbook is a class as well as a club and you may be required to attend functions outside of the regular school day.
