Willington Prep - Celebrating 140 years - 1885-2025
What an exciting week we’ve had in Year 1! The children have loved taking part in a Rock, Paper, Scissors competition, exploring Outdoor Learning, and enjoying a special No Pens Day filled with Lego and junk modelling challenges, and a school-wide ‘Show and Tell’. They also created some adorable Valentine’s crafts!
Teamwork has been at the heart of everything this week—from the thrilling Rock, Paper, Scissors finals to birdwatching, performing our class poem, and using balance scales in Maths. It has been wonderful to see their collaboration and enthusiasm in every activity.
We hope you all have a fantastic half-term break. We can’t wait to welcome the children back on Monday, 24th February and hear all about their adventures!

THE WEEK AHEAD: After half term, swimming replaces Tuesday games. Please wear full uniform on Tuesdays and sports kit on Wednesdays. First swimming lesson: Wednesday March 5th (no swimming on Wednesday 26th February due to Prep Gala).
House Spelling Bee heats take place on Monday 24th February: Please see the letter from Mrs. Battey brought home today with words to practise over half term.
We kindly remind you that after-school snacks should continue to follow our school’s theme of healthy eating and remain nut-free. Please avoid sending in chocolate-based or unhealthy snacks, as well as any items containing nuts. Thank you for your support in promoting a healthy and safe environment for all our children.
