Happy Valentine's Day! Love is in the air as we spent the week learning and celebrating love, friendship, and kindness, and why we love and appreciate our parents. The children loved listening to a wonderful story about the meaning of love called “Foxy in Love" by Emma Dodd.
We started the week with our heart and craft activity, learning a new technique (weaving) using cardboard cut into heart shapes, pipe cleaners, assorted colours wooden beads and other media and materials, the children worked wholeheartedly on this big project all week to produce a beautiful multimedia heart. The children have been introduced to symmetry in maths, and to make it fun, hearts have been used to create symmetrical patterns with red, pink and purple pens. The children are very excited as they have made something special for their parents (it's a secret!) They coloured in a heart of their own choosing and carefully selected their own heart shaped collage pieces to stick on cards.
On Thursday we had a trememendousaurus amount of fun at the Natural History Museum, especially when we finally found the mysterious Andy's clock! The children were super excited they nearly went inside to travel back in time and we nearly missed our coach back to school! They all did us proud, well done nursery.
