Willington Prep - Celebrating 140 years - 1885-2025
I cannot believe that the half term is coming to an end already, and I want to say a big well done to the children for all the wonderful work that they have created.
Thank you to the parents and families who were able to join us for the Year 3 and 4 Sketchbook Showcase on Wednesday. It was lovely to see the children showing you, and each other their work - I will look forward to the next time we host one of these events.
Today in our Art lessons, it has been wonderful to hear the children using their communication skills as a part of "No Pens Day" to discuss their artwork. Years 5 and 6 worked in teams to discuss and critique artworks by a range of artists, such as Yayoi Kusama, Salvador Dali, Barbara Hepworth, Claude Monet, Edvard Munch and Banksy, trying to understand what makes a "successful" piece of art. I was really amazed by the ideas, opinions and the great use of the key terminology we have been studying so far this year.
Please enjoy looking through some of the wonderful artwork below.
Warm regards,
Miss Beere
Head of Art
Year 4: for our new DT project, we will be creating a Marble Maze. If you have any old shoe boxes (in particular shoe box lids), please may you bring one in after half term.
