Willington Prep - Celebrating 140 years - 1885-2025
Welcome back after the Christmas break! We’ve hit the ground running with an exciting start to the week and lots of activities across all subjects.
In Art, we embarked on a journey to explore the beauty of nature. For Computing, we've been sharpening our skills in using search engines to effectively retrieve information. Our Music lessons have us eagerly learning songs for our Year 4 production – we can't wait to showcase our talents! In French, we're delving into vocabulary related to clothes, making language learning fun and practical. Science has been a blast as we investigated volume with telephone cup experiments to understand how sound travels. In Geography, we're mastering the skill of reading 4-figure grid references. Our Maths sessions are all about learning to count through zero, rounding numbers, and making estimations. During PSHCE, we've explored the different factors that affect our feelings, fostering a greater understanding of ourselves. In RE, we began our journey into Hinduism, exploring where Hindus believe their religion originated and how it has spread across the world. Our creativity in English shone as we published our fantasy stories using book creators. It was thrilling to have the computer read our stories aloud! Finally, in History, we launched our Aztecs topic with discussions about the facts we already know and what we hope to discover this term.
It's been a week full of learning and inspiration. We're excited to see what the rest of the term brings!
