Reception

Happy New Year! 

This week in Reception, we launched our new topic, 'Space', with a focus on the Moon and the Space Race. The children created stunning moon-themed artwork for their Moon and Space Book covers, showcasing their creativity. The children loved making their own bubble print Moons.

In Phonics, we explored the digraph 'oo', learning both its long and short sounds. The children were introduced to how 'oo' appears in words with the help of Tricky Witch and Cool Blue, making the learning fun and engaging.

In Maths, we recapped 2D shapes and made wonderful shape pictures, and we began learning about addition. The children practiced combining two groups of objects to find the total, developing their early problem-solving skills.

It has been an exciting and productive start to our term, and the children are already showing great enthusiasm for their learning adventures ahead!
