Happy New Year to all our nursery families.
We would like to welcome all our new children Deniz and Reed and their families to the nursery. The children have all been very helpful and friendly to both boys to ensure they are happy.
The children were beyond excited to be back amongst their friends and we heard lots of chatter about what Santa had brought as well as drawing lots of pictures to illustrate this.
The children also created some very interesting picture puzzles using recycling Christmas cards, cutting and following a straight line, rearranging the pieces together to form the picture again.
We have been looking at the new season this week ‘Winter’ and discussing the changes we have noticed and what to wear. Which has animated the children especially with understanding the importance of coats, hats, scarves and gloves.
We also focused on the numerals 0-10. The children had great fun choosing their preferred numeral and decorating it with collage pieces to make a number line (See picture)
During music, the children loved listening to the one and only Julie Andrews singing the much loved song of all times: do a deer! They even started humming and singing the song all day!
Before moving on to next week’s new letter sound “P” we recapped on last term’s letters ‘a,s,t” and the children demonstrated their progressing retainment development and were able to name objects for each letter sound and the letter sound.
Next week will be an exciting week as we start our Dinosaur topic !!!!
