eCampus' contract with Kaltura ends on December 31, 2023. YuJa will be the primary academic video platform and capture software for USG eCampus.
All videos hosted on Kaltura will be migrated to YuJa. The YuJa customer success team will be handling the migration and assignment of videos to everyone’s new YuJa accounts.
YuJa is a cloud-based enterprise video platform. Videos created and uploaded to YuJa are automatically converted to multiple resolutions for the best viewing experience possible. YuJa is integrated within GoView for easy sharing of videos throughout any area of a course. A non-destructive editor includes multiple post-production features including the ability to update slides for narrated slideshows.
It is recommended that faculty limit the length of video-based course materials. Research has shown that the average length of effective videos is approximately 6-minutes. A key strategy to keeping videos short is to only cover one course concept for each video. YuJa’s editing features allow the ability to break longer videos into smaller segments.
YuJa is integrated within GoView making the process of creating and sharing videos in the classroom easier. YuJa is packed full of features such as detailed analytics, video quizzes, in-line text comments, multiple source recording software, and more!
Requiring students to upload their Major Project videos to Yuja will save instructors time. Previously problematic filetypes should not longer be a challenge. Yuja should be able to play any type of media file.
YuJa Software Capture is an included software-based recording tool for Windows and OSX. All video inputs are recorded separately for a customizable viewing experience in the YuJa video player.
YuJa Browser Capture is a browser-based recording tool with ChromeBooks in mind. Use Browser Capture with Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge (Chromium-based), or Firefox. Browser Capture is ideal for quick webcam and/or screen capture.
Auto captioning time varies depending on the length of the video. YuJa processes videos by prioritizing playback before automatic captions. Automatic captions are only available for faculty and staff accounts. Student accounts do not have automatic captions available, but are able to upload and edit captions manaually.
