Creating a Video Quiz

Video quizzes prompt viewers during playback to answer questions at specified times. Clicking Save while making a quiz will save progress. It is recommended that Save is clicked periodically to not lose any work due to any disruptions.

The video must finish publishing before creating a quiz.
Hover the mouse over a video to reveal a menu.
Select More.
Click Quizzes from the side menu.
Click Create Video Quiz.
Type a title for the quiz in the text box above the video.
Click along the video playbar to move the playhead to a specific time.

Note: The time location of a question can not be changed. Questions must be deleted and added again to be moved to a different point on the timeline.
Click Add Question beneath the video.
Select a question type.

Note: The question type can be changed by clicking on the dropdown menu in the top left corner of the pop-up window.
Click the arrows in the Points area to set the value of the question.
Enter text for the question.
Optional, enter text for a hint.
Enter text for the answer choices.
Click the radio button next to the correct answer.
Click Save.
Repeat Steps 7-15 to add more questions.
To make edits to existing questions, select a question from the Question List in the right side of the window.
Click Post.
Click the Calendar icons to set open and close dates.
Click a checkbox next to a group to select a class.

Note: Quizzes must be posted to a YuJa course to become available.
Click Post.

Adding Dynamic Feedback

Note 1: Dynamic feedback is only available for multiple choice and true/false question types.

Note 2: “Provide Answers Right Away” must be enabled to use the dynamic feedback feature.

Note 3: Published quizzes can be updated with dynamic feedback. YuJa will prompt to copy the quiz if students have already completed the quiz.

Open the YuJa Media Library.
Hover the mouse over a video to reveal a menu.
Select More.
Click Quizzes from the side menu.
Either Click Create Video Quiz or Edit an existing quiz.
Click Settings.
Click the checkbox for Provide Answer Right Away.
Configure other quiz settings.
Click Save.
Place the cursor on the playbar for the question location or edit an existing question (skip to step 13).

Click Add Question.
Select either Multiple Choice or True or False.
Click the feedback button to enable a text box for dynamic feedback
Click Save when the question is finished.
Click Post when the quiz is finished with set up.
Click the Calendar icons to set open and close dates.
Click a checkbox next to a group to select a class.

Note: Quizzes must be posted to a YuJa course to become available.
Click Post.

Creating a Playback Quiz

Playback quizzes will give students graded credit for viewing at least a certain amount of a video’s duration.

Open the YuJa Media Library.
Hover the mouse over a video to reveal a menu.
Select More.
Click Quizzes from the side menu.
Click Create Playback Quiz.
Type a Title for the quiz.
Set a Percentage Watched.
Click Create.
Click Manage next to the newly created quiz.
Click the Calendar icons to set open and close dates.
Click a Checkbox next to select a course to post the quiz.

Note: Quizzes must be posted to a YuJa course to become available.
Click Update.
