The district periodically will use SchoolMessenger to send text messages to parents and guardians. In the event of a significant emergency, we will also use the system to contact your designated emergency contacts. According to federal telecommunications rules, individuals must “opt in” to receive text messages from us. Click HERE for more information about School Messenger.
Clever: Clever is a service that uses a student's Google account information as a portal to log into different technological tools that the district has provided to it's students. Students must be logged into Google with their @studentswcsoh.org account, and then Clever will use the student Google username and password to log into the products listed on the site. Different products will be available to students at the elementary, middle and high school levels. Follow the directions to log into Clever at home. [iOS / Chrome]

Common Sense is the nation's leading nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of kids and families by providing the trustworthy information, education, and independent voice they need to thrive in the 21st century. While this website has no official connection with Westerville City Schools, it has been a good resource for many parents to get factual information about books, movies, games, apps, and more to help navigate the media world with our students.
Depending on the age of your student, you may want to set parental controls on the technology. Westerville Schools has a robust system of tools in place to filter internet searches and ensure student safety, but if you are interested in applying some controls on your home accounts, the information below can help.
Talking Points allows parents and teachers who speak different languages to communicate with each other via either the Talking Points App or text message. School announcements, polls, documents, and other information can also be sent via this service. Parents may choose to download the app, (iOS, Android), but this is optional. If you receive a message from Talking Points through text messaging, it will introduce the program and you can simply respond to the message if needed.
