When I started out with MUN I wasn't sure what it was exactly. I knew the basics of it, which was that MUN was a school club and that we would meet once a week and debate/ discuss about all sorts of problems that happen around the world. When I first learnt that there were inter- school conferences I was excited but I was also scared because I did not know how it worked. I was then advised to be a page so that I could see how a conference works. Starting off as a page I made my way up to being chair and that's how my MUN experience ended. As page I learned the basics of how a conference runs, then I became a delegate and i learned about POIs, speeches, and resolutions and although all of that overwhelmed it, I enjoyed being a part of something where everyone was so passionate. The first time I was asked to make a resolution I was scared because I was not confident with the formatting of it. I made a lot of mistakes but luckily the chairs were always helpful and I finally became confident and that's when I knew I could try for chair. I applied to be a chair for FOBISIAMUN and that was a huge conference, but I wasn't scared because the host had properly prepared us. While charing I felt so proud because I changed drastically and I was the one finally teaching others how MUN works and that feeling was satisfying.
