Growing up with a family that religiously follows soccer I also got into the game. I've been in this sport ever since grade 5. Although I've grown up to playing and watching this game I'm not the best at it. Deciding to try out for the varsity team was scary as I knew I wasn't good. However, getting in the team was an accomplishment for me. Having practices every week for the season I learned a lot about my potential. Before joining the team I knew that my stamina was good and that was because of basketball training. During practices I learned that my form of receiving and passing the ball was good, However, I couldn't think fast when it came to deciding what my next move would be. This was something I needed to improve on. Games after games and practices after practices I felt I improved and I learned that it's better for me to pass the ball rather than holding on to it to decide while the opposing team can come and attack me. My position was mid fielder, however that changed from time to time so that I would get the experience of playing in other positions and improve on that too. Despite not having a strong team in the start we managed to come second in the overall season and we were impressed as we were able to reflect back and think about how far we've come as a team. After all this is a team sports, even thought you have to train yourself to improve in certain aspects. I learned that working together in the sport is the best way to play.
