CAS learning outcomes:
1: Identify own strengths and develop areas for growth
2: Demonstrate that challenges have been undertaken, developing new skills in the process
Baking is something that I used to often do when I was bored. However, I stopped for a while as it was time-consuming, and didn't find it as fun anymore. During the first lockdown last year I decided that I wanted to try something new as I had a lot of time and not much to do. Since I had a lot of free time, I was able to find and test out new recipes. I started making desserts like cookies, cake, banana bread, cinnamon rolls, brownies, scones, and various other things. I wanted to try new recipes, so I gradually moved on to bake things such as bread. I found the experience very fun, and I was fascinated as I didn't know I had the ability to make bread. The experience was overall fun, but also a struggle. When first trying out new recipes, it didn't go as well, and definitely didn't turn out perfect. However, I kept on trying and switching up the measurements and recipe until I got it to my liking. After lockdown, I was able to share this experience with my friend. We adjusted some of the old recipes and modified them to our likings. By the end, I was happy that I was able to work with other people and also share some desserts with my friends and family!
