During this YFSDG conference, two of my friends and I created a team of three in order to create a presentation about our team's idea on how to combat youth unemployment. Using the SDG goals 1,4,8, and 11, our team discussed the detrimental results that covid-19 had on youth employment. Our team suggested the idea of allowing access to better education via online platforms. We were willing to participate in this conference because the topic of youth unemployment had interested us. In a year from now, we would also be adults, and soon enough, we would need to find jobs as well. So by working together, we had the idea of creating a platform that allowed easier access to information on available jobs.

This was the first national MUN that I had the opportunity to participate in. While I felt slightly sad that this conference was online I still gained much insight from this. I was placed on the historical committee and I had the opportunity to represent a big nation. While some ideas that were brought up in the meeting are somewhat controversial, it gives everyone the opportunity to draw the line between the morally good and the morally bad. Sometimes, unironically, there are people who actually support the things they say (which may seem contraversial) but I think it was a good chance for me to experience many different perspectives from a non-biased point of view.

While I wasn't interested in law in the first place, the judicial system piqued my interest since it was somewhat related to MUN (a conference that I've participated in since middle school). Since I wanted a variety of experiences, I thought it would be good to try out a new field of education. In this case, I had to defend someone who, in my personal opinion, was guilty. However, I managed to win the case and plead innocent for my "guilty" client. This made me realize where I draw my own boundaries. Overall, I met many people who are super passionate about Law and it made me realize that I could find an area where I felt the same passion as they did with law.
