Course Overview
The 7th Grade Band is the third step in our band program and marks an important stage in each student’s musical journey. As the second most advanced group in the program, this year is vital for continued growth as musicians. Students entering the 7th and 8th Grade Band Homeroom gain valuable experience performing for audiences at school events, community occasions, and outside venues. In this graded course, students refine their musical skills while preparing for more advanced and exciting performance opportunities.
Rehearsals & Lessons
Rehearses three times per 6-day cycle (B4, B5, B6)
Each student attends one small-group lesson per cycle during recess/lunch (3rd period)
All students are required to participate in Band Homeroom
Performances & Field Trips
Perform at school concerts and community events
Participate in exciting performance-based field trips
Trip to New York City for a live music experience
Visit to Rowan University to perform, compete, and receive feedback from professional adjudicators
