Welcome back to the second quarter of Virtual Academy!

Report cards will be sent via email this week.

9:15 LIVE LESSON- We will focus on the character strength of Perspective.

9:30 EL LIVE LESSON- We will research issues with access to books and education in various countries. We will also begin writing an informative essay. There is an EL assessment on Thursday.

10:00-11:00 EL SMALL GROUP TIME - Students will work collaboratively to research problems with access to books and education in a specific country to become an "expert".

11:00 Intervention & Enrichment - We are beginning a new fall themed read aloud, "The Candy Corn Contest". There will also be a few holiday read alouds throughout the quarter. During this read aloud, students will also have the opportunity to play an estimation game that corresponds with the story. Students should also work at their own pace on the Fall Themed Intervention Packet (in Material Distribution Bags).

1:05 Specials

1:45 - MATH LIVE LESSON - We will begin a new unit on creating, reading, and analyzing various graphs. This is a very short unit with only 6 lessons before the assessment.

2:15-3:15 MATH SMALL GROUP TIME - We will reinforce the lessons for the day. Students will also independently complete workbook pages and play Dreambox or Prodigy.

3:15 SOCIAL STUDIES: We are beginning a new unit on Geography. This week's focus will be on absolute and relative location and reading maps.
