What do I do when it is not my day to attend orientation?

Feel free to come Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for a fun read aloud or activity at 3:15pm to meet your classmates, practice logging on at a specific time, and get to know your teachers!

Go to Google Classroom and check out the Orientation Weeks 1 tab for this week, August 17. Each day, when you are not with Mrs. Olynick and Mrs. Perrott, practice completing assignments. We have posted assignments that you can complete at your own pace throughout this first week of school. We suggest completing math at math time and ELA at ELA time to get yourself use to a daily schedule.

We are so excited to have you join our class for your first full day of virtual instruction! Here is the schedule for the day.

9:00-9:15 Office Hours Great time for parents to ask questions about the day!

9:15-9:30 Welcome and Attendance

All students join by clicking the Google Meet link in Google Classroom. Please remember to turn off microphones after initially greeting the teacher. Students may turn microphones back on when speaking. Cameras may remain on.

9:30-10:00 Live Introductory Lesson

We will go over expectations for online learning, our daily schedule, introduce One Book, One Brassfield, and model an activity for independent work.

10:00-11:00 Independent Work

Students work on their Hopes and Dreams Clouds and watch One Book, One Brassfield book: I Am Human

11:00-11:30 Live Meet

Students log in using the Google Meet link in Google Classroom to share their Hopes and Dreams Clouds with the group.

11:30-1:45 Mid-Day Break Lunch, play outside, no screen time!

1:45-2:15 Live Math Lesson

Students log in using the Google Meet link in Google Classroom to participate in a get to know you math activity with the teachers.

2:15-3:15 Independent Work

Students work on their Me By the Numbers activity and complete the first day Consensogram slide from Google Classroom to show us how they are feeling about their first day of Virtual Academy.

3:15-4:00 Whole Class Social Activity

All students are welcome to click the Google Meet link in Google Classroom to join their teachers and classmates for a community building read aloud and activity.

**This meet does not take place on Tuesday due to a training for the teachers.**

4:00-4:15 Office Hours Great time for parents to ask questions about the day!
