Cross-listing is designed so that teachers can add assignments to all sections at once.

Grades --> View --> Filter --> Sections.
On the right side "All Sections" - dropdown menu, choose the section you want to view.
Assignments -->Assign to -->Choose section to assign work to

You can create modules for each section/period. For example:

When you create the assignment, you choose from the dropdown menu which section or students to assign this work to.

If you want to clean up your Dashboard, go to Courses icon in left side toolbar, click on All Courses, then click on the star beside the courses you want to appear at the top of your Dashboard.
