Lou Rose

Greetings!!

I’m Lou Uzzell Rose and I’m currently employed with Wayne County Public Schools at the district level in the Curriculum & Instruction Department where I serve all 32 schools as one of the Digital Teaching & Learning Coaches for the district. I enjoy working with teachers and encouraging them to be creative and to use technology as a vehicle to make teaching more innovative and fun for their students. Technology can truly make teaching and learning more powerful and prepare students for our changing world. One of my other interest and responsibilities in the district is to encourage the implementation of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) across the curriculum throughout the district. In addition, this year I am working closely with media coordinators across the district and am helping to facilitate instruction in the media center at Meadow Lane Elementary School.

While in Wayne County I have served in various roles as a Classroom Teacher, Interim Administrator, Instructional Liaison with the New Schools Project and the first DODEA Grant Director. Previously I was employed with East Carolina University as a federal grant lead coordinator for Operation LINK, a program designed to connect youth with robotics, team building, leadership opportunities and civic engagement. I have also served in administrative roles in Greene i.e.: assistant principal at the middle and high school levels. Lenoir County i.e.: middle school coordinator at the district level, avid district director, healthy active children director, Curriculum and Instruction Team at the district level. I am currently a candidate for my EdD in Educational Leadership and superintendent’s licensure at East Carolina University and hope to graduate in May 2020.

I have been in education for over 30 years and am excited about the opportunity to share with teachers across the district. Feel free to email me at lourose@wcps.org or on twitter @lou_uzzellrose.
