If school is delayed or cancelled, the district will make an automated call to the primary contact phone number for each student and staff member. The delay or closing will also be posted on the district website, www.wccsk12.org, updated on the district app and local radio and television stations will be notified. Please note: These stations will be notified as soon as the decision is made. However, the on-air announcement will be made according to the radio or television station's schedule.
If school is to be closed early due to bad weather or other emergency, the district will make an automated call to all contact numbers for each student. Families should have a procedure to follow in the event of an early closing. Please be sure to make prior arrangements for the care of younger children if no adult will be at home during the day.
On days when school is closed due to bad weather or another emergency, all extracurricular and evening activities are also canceled.

Standards-Based Report Card Parent Guide
Our school follows a rotating A–E Day schedule rather than a fixed Monday–Friday model. This system helps ensure that students:
Receive equal access to special area instruction (Art, PE, Music, Library, etc.)
Receive regular access to support services (e.g. counseling, intervention, etc.) on a consistent basis
Stay on track when there are holidays, early dismissals, or weather-related closures
Because we follow the rotation — not the day of the week — we avoid situations where students might miss the same class every time there’s a Monday off.
Here’s how it works:
The first day of school is an A Day, then continues to B, C, D, E.
If school is closed or shortened, we simply pick up where we left off when we return.
Examples:
If Tuesday is a D Day and Wednesday is an early release, then Thursday is an E Day.
If Friday is an A Day and Monday is a holiday, Tuesday becomes a B Day.
📌
Tips for Families:
Ask your child’s teacher if you’re ever unsure which day it is.
Consider sending sneakers 👟daily so your child is always ready for PE.
