You may need to reconnect your link to the Common-Files drive after holidays or when you change your password. In order to reconnect you will have to remove any previous connection first.
To remove your previous connection (if required):
3. Find the drive letter you have previously mapped, it should be labelled something like https://files.willcarey.nsw.edu.au/Common-Files/ (Z:). The one to avoid is simply labelled “Common Files” is your regular school X drive, do not change that one.
4. Right click and select “Disconnect”, this will remove your old connection and you are ready to remap with your new password.
To map the new connection:
Step 1: Open “File Explorer” by typing it into the search bar, or holding down the Windows button on your keyboard and pressing “E”.
Step 2: Click on “This PC” in the menu bar on the left of File Explorer.
Step 3: Click the “Computer” tab at the top of the File Explorer window and click the “Map Network Drive” button.
Step 4: Fill in the fields as follows:
Step 5: A window will popup prompting you enter username and password. Use your usual school network login details and tick “Remember my credentials” then click “Ok”.
You will now have an additional drive listed in “This PC”. Use this new drive letter (circled below) to connect from home and the usual X drive while at school.
