Should you find that your sound is not coming through classroom speakers (or the required playback device), you can modify this by changing the default playback device.
To check or change your playback device, right click the speaker icon in the bottom right corner of the screen, and then left click the item labelled “Playback devices”
This will open the “Sound” control window. You can select which playback device you want sound to come out of, by clicking on it and then clicking the “Set Default” button at the bottom.
Available options will vary depending on what is plugged in.
- Intel Display Audio HDMI 1 – This sends sound out of classroom speakers when you’re connected to the projector via HDMI cable as described above.
- (Speakers) Realtek High Definition Audio – These are your built in laptop speakers. You can set these as default to get sound when docked in your staffroom if you don’t have external speakers connected to your dock.
- Speakers) USB Audio CODEC – This is the speaker socket on your dock. If you have external speakers or headphones connected to your dock, select this option.
The green tick with “Default Device” indicates which option you currently have selected. In this screenshot the dock speaker port (USB audio CODEC) is selected.
