Students in Year 11 embark on more choice and challenge while still maintaining a broad curriculum. Most Year 11 students will have a programme of six subjects: English, Mathematics, Science and three option subjects. There are alternative courses in Mathematics and Science that still offer an NCEA pathway. Students selected for these courses will be advised by the HOD of Mathematics/Science or the Dean.
We are no longer offering NCEA Level 1, and students will be assessed using the Wellington College Learning Progressions Framework. Selected students in Year 11 may complete a limited number of NCEA Literacy and/or Numeracy credits. Please see here for more information about assessment.
Please note: Students who were accelerated into Y11 Science or Mathematics while in Y10 will need to select a total of 6 subjects including selections from Level 2 Sciences and Mathematics.
