Thanksgiving break

As part of BDU's STEM Initiatives and our partnership with the Indiana and National Endowment for the Humanties through a grant earned by media specialist Crista Carlino we have held some awesome Frankenstein Events including a Franken-Art Show with elementary student entries! The staff and students were very creative with entries of all types including food and three-dimensional art! A big thank you to all involved including primary coordinator Crista Carlino!

Ben Davis University High School was very proud to be recognized by the state along with several other Wayne Township Schools for their STEM Certification this past year down at the statehouse this week! STEM Action Committee Chair Dave Sekula and member Crista Carlino represented BDU at the recognition ceremony!

International Club sponsor EJ Jzar took a group of BDU students down to the annual Indianapolis International Festival this past week to celebrate cultural food and events as an extension of their club curriculum and goals!

BDU Spanish & science instructors Melissa Ballesteros and Robbie Foote presented this past week at the Indiana Foreign Teachers Association conference along with current BDU students who are engaged in our Medical Translator's certification program through Bridging the Gap! Robbie & Melissa are also working on a partnership with Adult Ed to offer the medical translator's certification to adults enrolled in ESL classes through their evening programs!

BDU Staff & Students had an awesome time at our annual Haunted House last week sponsored by the Student Council under the coordination of Will Sibley and Halloween Dance sponsored by our Class Officers under the coordination of Lisa Stephens and Andrew East! We also held a Frankstein Art Show coordinated by Crista Carlino through our STEM & Humanties grant connections, it was a great evening!
