In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Junior Day, there will be NO SCHOOL on Monday, January 15th.
In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Junior Day, there will be NO SCHOOL on Monday, January 15th.
To help celebrate this event, the following are events being held around the City of Indianapolis this Saturday, January 13, 2018 and Monday, January 15, 2018:
- Peace Learning Center’s Annual MLK Community Celebration will be on Saturday, January 13th from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. It is free and open to the public. The agenda will include music, perfomances, and the annual Power of Peace Award Ceremony at the Butler University.
- Conner Prairie will offer free admission on Monday, January 15th, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m., free day of storytelling, singing songs, and role playing.
- Indiana State Museum – Monday, January 15th, bring a nonperishable food item and receive free admission to celebrate the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with films, live music, poetry and performance art. 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the Indiana State Museum, 650 W. Washington St.
- Children’s Museum will offer free admission on Monday, January 15th, 10 a.m. -5 p.m.
- Indiana Historical Society will offer free admission on Monday, January 15th, from 10a.m. - 5 p.m.
- White River State Park - For the 18th year in a row, visitors to White River State Park attractions (NCAA Hall of Champions, Indiana State Museum, and the Eiteljorg Museum) will receive free admission and free parking on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, January 15th, with canned good donations (at least one can per person, per attraction) ... MLK, Jr. Day = FREE Admission Day at the White River State Park Attractions + Food Drive!
- Indianapolis Zoo - The Indianapolis Zoo will offer free admission on Monday, January 15, 2018, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., The zoo’s indoor exhibits will be open including the Orangutan Center, and guests can enjoy a free Dolphin Presentation.

Sophomore: Kiana Wells- "Kiana is an excellent student and embodies patience and hard work, exactly the behavior that a BDU students should have"
Junior: Olivia Willson- "highest grade in my course going into the final........95% great effort......grade 11" "Olivia has a great energy about her and is always 100% prepared for everything."
Senior: Brittany Mulkey- "Brittany is the embodiment of everything great about BDU. There is no better helper, and her respect for staff and students is amazing!"
BDU's annual recruitment efforts are in full swing! This past week BDU hosted 600 Chapel Hill 8th grade students for tours, activities, BDU college knowledge contents, and activities led by our Recruitment Committee members and Student Ambassadors! This week LHC 8th graders are making their ways through our halls and this past Wednesday our Recruitment Team partnered with the NGC University Academy and had a booth at the Ninth Grade Center Academy Fair! The turnout was great and we have already received several applications for excited students that are ready to become BDU Scholars and earn their first college degree! Our application is available online through our website and open until Friday, February 2nd! Please get the word out and a big thank you to CHC, LHC, and NGC for your help with our recruitment efforts!
