Audits will be taking place Monday April 2nd through Friday April 6th. This audit will enable seniors to see their academic progress and to make sure they are on track to graduate. See you there seniors!

X-Mester Updates
X-Mester Updates
The X- Mester Parent night will be taking place Tuesday April 3rd from 6-7PM. This is an informational night that will help answer any last minute questions from students and parents. X- Mester is an exciting experience that incoming seniors will take participate in. They will be spending one week at Vincennes University taking college courses on campus and the second week will be spent at Ben Davis University.

The annual Battle of the Books competition will be taking place Thursday April 5th @ Cathedral High School. Our team has been working hard all year preparing and reading for this day. Good luck!

The National Honor Society Induction breakfast will be taking place Friday April 6th 8:00-9:00 AM in Wayne Preschool Multipurpose Room. Any current NHS members are invited to attend.
BDU's National Honor Society chapter inducted 45 eager scholars this past week at a wonderful induction ceremony followed by a breakfast receptionist. A big thank you to NHS staff sponsors Rod Chandler & Brianne Winston!

The Junior Speed interviews will be taking place Friday April 13th in the Preschool Multipurpose room. This serves as a time for Juniors to practice being interviewed by our local businesses. Juniors will need to dress for success during this time as it is also a part of their advisory grades. Good luck Juniors!

Prom will be occurring at the Arts Garden in Circle Centre Mall on Saturday April 21st from 8 to 11 PM. Tickets can be purchased here. Tickets are $35 each. Please be sure to include your name as well as the name of your guest if applicable. Tickets will be delivered during SRT on Friday's up to the April 20th.

Congratulations to BDU Scholars Francisco Guerra - senior and Eli Lily Endowment Scholarship Recipient as well as the Region 8 BPA President who qualified in Payroll Accounting and Economic Research, Clara Valentire - class valedictorian who will receive her associate degree Cum Laude who qualified in Economic Research, and junior Jose Herrera, a phenomenal junior business leader and dedicated student also at the top of his class who qualified in Fundamental Accounting.

BDU Staff and Students had an awesome time at the annual Staff vs. Students Volleyball Game this past Friday! The staff dominated the competition, but the students looked great with their coordinated outfits and efforts! BDU was proud to represent at the MLK Jr. Awards this past week where sophomore, Addison Adams received her group's award along with staff sponsor Crista Carlino for their Dare to Dream project, a multimedia presentation. Congratulations to all the students who worked hard to brainstorm and complete this project! Heidi Benitez, Caleana Field, and Mariame Sow.

Retiring BDU Teacher Lorene Sandifur has dedicated a portion of her school day on March 14th each year to celebrating Pi Day (3.14159) and this year was no exception! Lorene had activities, delicious pies, and also brought students down to the commons to shoot a Pi Day Video at 1:59pm to join the national Pi Day celebration.

Ben Davis University High School's Class Officers sponsored a school-wide drive to gather items and donations for the Hoosier Veteran's Assistance Foundation in order to put together care packages to support our Indiana Veterans in need. Their goal was surpassed with a total of 73 care packages full of essential care items and food which they were able to provide to the representative this past week to complete their service learning opportunity. We are very grateful for their efforts!

Clara will be honored at the annual IASP Luncheon and Awards at the Indiana Rooftop Ballroom on Friday, April 27th!

On Monday, April 2nd BDU Spanish Teacher EJ Jzar was recognized at IU Bloomington for her selection to receive an Armstrong Educator Award along with NGC teacher Erin Walker! We are very excited for EJ who received an additional selection to work with pre-service teachers next year in the Education Program for Teaching Certification at IU Bloomington!

Congratulations to BDU's Academic Superbowl Team and sponsors Brianne Winston & Rod Chandler! They completed in their 2nd competition this year and after significant preparation for the competition, I am very excited to share that they placed 3rd in Fine Arts and 2nd in English! So proud our their efforts and representation of our school!
