PRINCIPAL'S CORNER

We are off to a great start in the 2017-2018 school year. It is hard to believe 5 weeks have already passed since the school year began but, progress reports will be distributed on Thursday, 8/31 during Impact period and students should be bringing those home to you that evening. While we are on the topic of grades, we are fortunate to have great resources like Skyward Family Access in Wayne Township. Skyward allows parents/guardians to view an up to date grade book for each class their student has, attendance, and contact information. This is a wonderful and convenient way to ensure that you are able to follow up and help your student be successful. Please call the school (317-988-7500) if you have not been able to gain access to Skyward as a parent. You should also be aware of our study table schedule for each Academy. This is extremely valuable time for students to work with one of their teachers in a safe environment. We have many students who take advantage of this time to prepare for exams or get caught up on their studies.

We are also excited about the great things our students are doing and how we honor the amazing things they do each and everyday at BDNGC. In a few weeks we will be announcing our first round of Giant Club members. Teachers from each academy will select 25 students who embody the 5 tenets of Giant Club. You can see more information on these characteristics in the newsletter. This is a great honor and one that comes with some occasional free food, free entry into events, and entry into gift card drawings throughout the year. We look forward to honoring our students for doing the right thing all year long!
