Watertown Public Schools
2022 Visual Art Show
A Year of Transitions While Focusing on Coming Back Together Again.
What a year!
In September while our students were adjusting to being back to fully in person school, we were excited to welcome everyone back into their Art Classes where we could re-introduce in person critiques and feedback and had an easier time sharing more materials options.
This year all 3 Elementary Schools went through major construction projects and moves which meant that for a period of time Art Class was “on a cart” and in a different space than usual. The Cunniff and Hosmer schools are settling into their new Art Rooms and we look forward to the completion of the new Lowell School and moving into the brand new Art Room there as well.
In April The Watertown Mall welcomed us back for our first in person Art Show since 2019. This year's show featured brand new art panels and a collection of artwork from grades 6-12 across a wide array of 2-D media. The Watertown Middle School Jazz Band welcomed everyone to our Art Show Opening with a wonderful performance setting an enthusiastic and positive tone to the entire event.
Creativity is thriving throughout our Art Classes at all ages and in all buildings. It’s consistently exciting to see students engage and challenge themselves as they learn new concepts and skills and then enjoy viewing the results.
We hope you enjoy highlights from the show at the Watertown Mall as well as highlights from elementary school art classes on these pages.
