Tissue paper decoupage

The delicacy of tissue paper was a challenge the students eagerly accepted. Tantalized by the textures created upon gluing each shape, the students could barely wait to cover with mod podge!

Mondrian Hearts

While learning about Mondrian's cubist inclinations, students got to try their hand at making abstract art. Using strips of black paper and glue, students designed their hearts, and later filled some of the geometric shapes they had made with watercolor or marker.

Students learned about American Pop Artist, James Rizzi, and his whimsical take on the city skyline. Using their imaginations, students made a city of their dream buildings using sharpie and watercolors.
