Symphonic Band students are required to participate in marching band. Mandatory rehearsals include one week of summer band camp and after school rehearsals twice per week. Students planning to participate in a school-sponsored fall sport may choose to not participate in marching band if the sport conflicts with marching band rehearsals or performances. Symphonic Band performs high quality wind literature to provide historical and cultural perspective, extended student engagement, and aesthetic depth. Successful students will demonstrate growth in musicianship, instrumental technique, music literacy, and rehearsal and performance discipline. Students are required to attend all rehearsals and performances.
Symphonic Band & Concert Choir Combo is designed for students interested in being a member of both the Symphonic Band and the Concert Choir. Because the two ensembles rehearse during the same period, instructors will design a rotating schedule allowing students to be successful members of both ensembles. Students are required to attend all rehearsals and performances.
