Family Service Requirement

To continue WASBA's substantial support to the music department, we count on each family to join in volunteerism for fundraisers, chaperoning, and work in our busy concession stands. While participation in general fundraisers (ex/ sandwich sales, discount cards, etc.) is voluntary, a family service requirement is written into the course selection guide to support concessions. Out of equality, the same requirement is extended to non-curricular members of the major co-curricular performing ensembles.

• Symphonic Band

• Wind Ensemble

• Marching Band (including color guard)

• Jazz Band

• Indoor Guard

• Indoor Percussion Ensemble

• Concert Choir

• Chamber Singers

At least 1 adult for each participant family will complete 2 shifts* in the fall concession stand

The obligation may be fulfilled by a parent or guardian, other adult family member, family friend, neighbor, etc. (18+ yrs)

• Availability Monday-Saturday during the fall season

• Most shifts are approx. 2 hrs (excluding Friday night football games)

*WASD/WASBA canceled events are still counted in your favor for making the attempt; participant canceled shifts require selection of another date

Failure to complete the obligation will result in conversion to a $50 buy-out fee ($25/shift) to be applied to the Sapphire Community Web Portal

 The Volunteer Sign-up is linked below, posted regularly to the Facebook Group, and distributed via email from WASBA and music department faculty. Direct concerns to a music department faculty member.
