Description:
Play is the way young children learn best!
Activities:
Play a family game to practice turn taking and conversational skills (i.e. Go Fish, Bingo, Memory, Trouble, Sorry, Candy Land, etc.).
Play with your child while they engage in pretend/dramatic play activities (i.e. pretend going to a restaurant, cooking in the kitchen, going to the ice cream store, mailing letters, etc.).
Go on a scavenger hunt inside or outside your home (i.e. Find an object that is green. Find an object that is soft. Find an object that is round. Find a vehicle. etc.).
Have your child participate in a craft activity to work on following directions and basic concepts.
Have your child help you make a food/dessert using a simple recipe (i.e. making cookies).
