Title: Lost on a Mountain in Maine

I chose to create this project because I find it fun and entertaining to recreate some of my favorite books such as Lost on a Mountain in Maine. I also chose to create this project because I am from Maine and this book has a lot of history about Maine.

The program I used to create my book cover is Canva and the website www.befunky.com.

To being this project, I chose the book I wanted to recreate the cover of. Once I had the book chosen which was Lost on a Mountain in Maine I started to brainstorm how I would recreate the cover.  After I knew how I wanted to recreate the cover of the book, I started to find images that I thought would look good with how I wanted the cover to look,

Next, I found an  image of a mountain on Canva that I thought fit the vibe I wanted for the cover. I placed the mountain onto the cover background and repositioned them in the correct spots. I also rearranged things and chose images like trees and smaller mountains that looked best to fit the vibe I wanted for the cover.

Then I took a picture of a boy in my class on my phone. I imported the picture I took of the boy on to https://www.befunky.com/create/watercolor/ and I added filters and effects to the image to make it look like it was made with watercolors because it fit the theme of the rest of the cover and design. After I finished editing the image of the boy I imported it to my cover design and finished rearranging everything. I adjusted the layers of the trees so it would look like the boy was behind the trees.

Last I added all the finishing touches by adding the text, adjusting the textured background, and adding an additional filter on top of everything which was a watercolor filter and a grain filter to make it look like it had texture and depth to the cover design.

While creating my book cover, I learned that it takes trial and error to make things just how you would like them to be and it's okay if it’s not perfect the first time.
