Physical education Electives

Enjoy classes from a variety of physical education electives.

None of the courses below take the place of Health and Personal Fitness, which is a required course that all students must take.

Classes that may be offered include:   


Weight Training 


These courses are designed to give students the opportunity to learn weight training concepts and techniques used for obtaining optimal physical fitness. Students will benefit from comprehensive weight training and cardiorespiratory endurance activities. Students will learn the basic fundamentals of weight training, strength training, aerobic training, and overall fitness training and conditioning. Course includes both lecture and activity sessions. Students will be empowered to make wise choices, meet challenges, and develop positive behaviors in fitness, wellness, and movement activity for a lifetime.             

General Physical Education

Students will be exposed to a variety of individual and team sport activities. Students will learn rules and fundamentals, with an emphasis on teamwork and good sportsmanship. Through physical education students can begin to develop a healthy lifestyle that will benefit their bodies, spirit and minds. These activities can help students become healthy, successful citizens. The Health component will cover the individual as a whole, including mental/emotional, social and physical well-being. Students will be given the tools to make responsible choices that will have a positive effect on their health. Risk behaviors will be identified to empower the students to make the necessary changes to live a healthy life.  

Life Time Sports

PE Course designed to introduce and provide opportunities for students to develop the basic and intermediate skill in a variety of sports/activities and conditioning.   


Elective Course Offerings change yearly based on the needs of our students, information from the Georgia Department of Education and staffing, etc.
