Please visit WGHS Advanced Placement Program for more information regarding the AP Program.
Advanced Placement:
The purpose of the AP Program is to offer rigorous, college-level classes in a variety of subjects that provide high school students an opportunity to gain the skills and experience college recognizes. Students even have the possibility of receiving college credit depending on his/her exam score.
The AP Course Sequence Flow Chart is a reference for students to give them an idea of AP course offerings and general recommendations for what year students may opt to take these courses.
AP Course Registration Process:
Core Teachers meet with students in their classes both in the fall and spring to discuss course recommendations for the following school year.
If a student is recommended for an AP course, the AP teacher shares the AP Contract(Google Form) with the recommended student.
AP courses for which the student signed the AP Contract are placed on student's schedule (as they fit). Students must meet the eligibility requirements on the AP Contract by the end of the semester to remain eligible.
In May, tentative schedules are released to students and this is the only time that a student can request to be removed from an AP class.
