Crisis Resources:


Georgia Crisis Hotline (GCAL).  An agency that can provide prompt service for a person that is expressing a desire to hurt themselves or someone else.  Talk + Text 24/7 Support 1-800-715-4225

  

Project Safe.  Project Safe is a local non profit organization that is working to end domestic violence through prevention with educational programs, crisis intervention, support services for survivors and their dependents, and system that works diligently in the community.

 

The Cottage.  A sexual assault center and children's advocacy center.  An organization that works to raise awareness and bring about healing of individuals, families, and communities that are impacted by sexual violence and child abuse.  

 

NAMI Crisis Hotline Resources in the State of Georgia- site contains access to hotline numbers for child abuse, sexual assault, substance concerns, suicide, mental health, etc.

 

 

Grief Resources:

Helping Grieving Children and Teenagers- resource that can help families with children ranging from newborns to teenagers with the grief process. The link provides insight on their cognitive ability to understand grief/loss and provides caregivers with tools and resources to help children navigate the stages of grief.

National Alliance For Grieving Children: Supporting Grieving Children During the Season of Family. Resource provides supporting information on how to help students with the grieving process. Activities and conversation pieces are also included in the toolkit.

When Your World Is Already Upside Down: Supporting Grieving Children and Teens During the COVID-19 Global Health Crisis. Resource supports families that are grieving, especially during the pandemic. 

 

 

Substance Abuse: 

 Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).  Search for information related to substance abuse and treatment.  Resources are available.
