-Oxidation number
-Oxidants and Reductants
In a redox reaction, we must have an oxidant and a reductant.
The Oxidant (oxidizing agent) is the one that Loses/Gains electrons in the reaction to become Oxidised/Reduced by the Oxidant/Reductant. Therefore, the oxidant must undergo the Oxidation/Reduction process.
The Reductant (reducing agent) is the one that Loses/Gains electrons in the reaction to become Oxidised/Reduced by the Oxidant/Reductant. Therefore, the reductant must undergo the Oxidation/Reduction process.
