monday 4th may

Picture Prompt Writing- Day 1

Write a story using the picture prompt of the girl in her bath, in the ocean! You could include some of the following questions in your writing to give you ideas about what to write about.

How did her adventure begin?

Where will she go on her adventure?

What other things might be come across in the water?

How will she get back home?

How might she be feeling about the adventure?

What will her parents be thinking?

Would you like to go on an adventure like this? Perhaps you can write about it!

tuesday 5th may

Picture Prompt Writing- Day 2

Today I want you to proof read and edit your story. Following the steps below.

Proofreading and editing:

  • Read my writing to check if it makes sense

  • Add in any missing words

  • Underline my 'not sure' words (spelling errors)

  • Use a dictionary or word card to fix any spelling errors

  • Check my punctuation marks and fix any errors

Finished? Read it to someone in your bubble. You can also take a photo of your writing and send it to me.

wednesday 6th may

Flying! Day 1

Write a story about this picture. You could write as if you are the boy in the picture. You could use some of the following questions below to give you some ideas to write about.

If you could fly anywhere in the world where would you fly?

How would you fly there? Would you try their invention in the picture or create your own?

What do you think the bear is thinking?

thursday 7th may

Flying! Day 2

Complete your exciting stories about the flying picture prompt.

Today you can complete your story and then start your proofreading and editing:

  • Reread you story to check it makes sense

  • Check you have capital letters and full stops in the right places.

  • Fix up your underlined words

  • Check your writing is exciting, make changes where needed.

friday 8th may

Publishing Day

Today I want you to choose your favourite story that you wrote this week or last week to publish. Once you have chosen which story you want to publish, get an adult to check your editing and then you can get started on your publishing.

Get a piece of paper and neatly write your story out. I have included publishing paper on our writing page that you can use if you wish. You could make a border round your page to go with your story! Draw a picture and add some colour!
