Listen to the story 'How Tiger Got His Stripes'

Can you do a retell of this story in your own words? Either write it down or say it out loud to someone at home. Make sure you include all the details and try and retell the main events in the correct order.

Next you can draw a picture of a tiger.

Read the poem 'Cheese, Pease'

Can you point out a comma, apostrophe and exclamation mark? Talk to your family about what you know about these, what are they used for?

Read the story 'Library Lion'

Once you have finished reading the story, get someone in your bubble to ask you the following questions.

Comprehension questions:

What is Miss Merriweather very strict about?

Why did the lion roar at the end of story hour?

What was one of the jobs that the lion did for Miss Merriweather?

When Miss Merriweather got hurt, how did the lion react?

Why did the lion come back to the library?

How did the lion feel at the end of the story?

Finished? You could find someone to read the story to in your family, then read them the questions and see if they can answer them all!
